Psalm 119: 97-104

Mem
Oh, how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
What happens when a society turns from God’s Laws and precepts to doing as they desire? When both man’s laws and God’s are being ignored, life loses its value, people kill babies in the mother for gain and convenience and after you devalue life for years in the womb, listen to the news and you understand the one that came to kill, steal, and destroy, is getting the job done.
What if, yes, what if the body of Christ, His Church, stood firm and like the Psalmist, and said; Oh how I love your law! We will discover as we explore Psalm 119:105-106, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules.” I can only imagine the effect it would have on our society, if the Church falls in love with the commandments and promises of our Father, and trains their children in righteous living looking to God for His plan for life.
It is my meditation all the day That is not my testimony, I have too many distractions and too much noise in my life. Is the testimony of the Psalmist your testimony, I hope so.
“Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.” Can you think of a better reason to put to memory God’s Word? I was talking to my dear friend John, and I shared what my brother told me about people coming to Texas from other areas of the country, because they wanted to be safe, have lower taxes, and have a better lifestyle. I said I hoped they understood and voted to keep Texas the way it was when they got here. His commitment most will vote for more social programs, like they had, “Bob, you cannot change stupid. My friend John said sadistic shows that haft of the people or under average in all ways. But it was not intellect but common sense I was referring to. The wisdom from God is what this culture is looking for but they need the Church to guide them to the Truth; Jesus is Truth.
The following is also not my testimony, I’m being taught each day by God’s word, and I am asking the Lord to guide my steps to apply it to my life, and to be led by the spirit of God. But I am a long way from being wiser than my teachers. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. My prayer is that you and I keep God’s precepts.
Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
From the Back Porch,
Bob Rice
