Tsadhe
Righteous are you, O Lord, and right are your rules. You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness. My zeal consumes me because my foes forget your words. Your promise is well-tried, and your servant loves it. I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true. Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight.
Your testimonies are righteous forever; give me understanding that I may live.
You and I were in full agreement with the Psalmist when he made this statement; “Righteous are you, O Lord, and right are your rules. You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness.”
But that is not the world we live in; it is evil and life has little value. Many of us who are followers of Jesus cannot believe this is happening in the USA. How did we get to this very dark time in our history? It is simple and the Psalmist is on target with the why. My zeal consumes me because my foes forget your words. The people have not allowed the Word of God to be the one and only authority, and they have chased after little gods of this world, no different than Israel, is doing and has done much of their history.
Your promise is well-tried, and your servant loves it.
God has not changed, yes His promises are the same today as when they were made. Now we have two churches in the USA, one is the promotional church, which has more of the world, the preacher talks about how to be a successful person, he holds the Bible as he preaches, but he is careful not to confront sin, are hurt anyone feelings. The real Church may be large in number on the roll, but its pastor fears God and knows who He works for, unlike the Promotional Church, which has a hireling. The dictionary defines hireling: as a person who works purely for material reward.
I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. Once again if you are going to be a Follower of Christ, you must follow. He is the Master and we are His servants, and if you are having a problem with that concept, you need to go to 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” And has not Jesus told us, that if the world hated Him it will hate us, we find His words in John 15:18-25, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.
Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.
