Let my cry come before you,

Psalm 119:169-176

Taw

Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word!  Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word.  My lips will pour forth praise, for you teach me your statutes.  My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right.   Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.  I long for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my delight.  Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me.  I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant,
for I do not forget your commandments.

It is very dark this morning, I’m up before 5 a.m. and yet it does not come close to the darkness in my nation.  Scripture tells us in the last days; But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Godhaving a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

The people of our nations have moved far from God's precepts and commands.  Many are blind to the truth and are looking to the government to take care of them.  When a nation moves from God, where is its Plum Line?  It comes down to one thing as a follower of Jesus Christ, where is your plum line, are you crying out to the Lord, as the Psalmist has done in his prayer?

Having spent many days and hours in Psalm 119, the Psalmist's hope was not in self, nor in leaders, but in God's Word, in His promises, teaching, and precepts.  When I began I said it is very dark this morning, but I’m not living in darkness, no I enter into the Light, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The Church must return to the Light, Jesus tells us He is the Light of the World and men love the darkness in their deeds or evil. If you are putting your hope in anything but Jesus, you are very foolish.  If you believe a political party is an answer you are very foolish if you are in a Church that has a form of godliness but denies its power,  leave and run to Jesus. Leave the darkness, and enter into the light, obey and honor Him, and seek His face.  James 5:8, "You must be patient keep your hopes high, for the day of the Lord's coming is near."
