Should a person Address the Sin of Leadership?

Should a person Address the Sin of Leadership?

Did Jesus address the Sin of those in Authority?

My reason for seeking Truth is it

wrong to Address Evil when it is not being addressed?

Who were the Scribes & Pharisees

In the Bible, the scribes and Pharisees were Jewish leaders and teachers in the 1st century who were well-educated in the law and scriptures:

·        Scribes

These writers of the law were experts in the law and could draft legal documents, such as contracts for marriage, loans, and inheritance. They also copied the Old Testament and studied the law to determine how it applied to daily life. Scribes were also sometimes public readers of scripture. (From the internet)

Does this sound as if Jesus might be confronting the sin of the Jewish leaders?  And in that time, they were under Roman rule, but they were much like our Congress to the people of Israel.  Matthew 23:15, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

Of the seven woes of the leaders, I will share one that sounds mean-spirited and harsh, but when one addresses Truth to a religious dude, they will always go on the defensive.

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people 's bones and all uncleanness.” (Matthew 23:27)

Now if this bothers you, you sure are not going to think Jesus was being very nice, in Matthew 23:33; “You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?”

What is the significance of Jesus telling some of the Jewish religious leaders, “You are of your father the devil” (John 8:44)?

In John 8:31-43 we have the exchange between Jesus and the Jewish leaders, they wanted to kill Jesus for saying God was His Father. Jesus made clear that they have a sin problem, but they refuse to listen. This is verse 44, You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Folk, we have a Truth Problem, it is not a new thing, it has been happening since the fall of man.  A man I often quote is Blaise Pascal who lived in the 1600’s.  This is a quote about Truth"Truth is so obscured nowadays and lies so well established that unless we love the truth, we shall never recognize it."

A person I care about, a family member, was not happy with my saying that the majority of the media lies, and that the handlers of the Biden/Harris also feed the media those lies.  And that a follower of Jesus should not do so.  I am reaching out to any who reads from the Back Porch, this is what I said in keeping, and quite mild to what Jesus said to these religious Leaders. Their quote “Doing so helps us see the humanity of people we disagree with rather than demonizing them in an unfair way.  I believe that Jesus expects more from His followers in how we speak of our leaders and fellow Americans. Your comments today were unfair to the Biden/Harris administration and the people who report news in a responsible way for mainstream outlets. I do not believe comments like this are winsome or in keeping with how Jesus taught us to interact with those with whom we disagree.”

My intent was not to demonize them, it was to state the truth.  And I did make an error in saying media, so let me clear that up I believe that Fox and maybe a few others tell the truth, but are not always objective.  I have found that the New York Post also holds to the Truth, I can say without any question that most of the main news media do not have any problem telling half the truth, and outright lies.  And if I confront lies that God calls an abomination, then I am guilty.

“ For this people 's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes hear with their ears and understand with their heart turn, and I would heal them.” (Matthew 13:15)
