Who Can Stand Before You?

To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.

In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel.  His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.  There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah

Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey.  The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil; they sank into sleep; all the men of war were unable to use their hands.   At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both rider and horse lay stunned.  But you, you are to be feared!  Who can stand before you when once your anger is roused?  From the heavens you uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still when God arose to establish judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah

Surely the wrath of man shall praise you;  the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.  Make your vows to the Lord your God and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is to be feared by the kings of the earth.

What a powerful song about our great God, one must wonder why the people of Israel would leave God to be like their neighbors. who were the pagans?  I grew up with HEB and its founders were folks that had a fear of God.  I worked for them from the age of 12 to 18. How things have changed, Charlie Butt is a billionaire and must not read what God has said nor does he have any fear of God, it seems.  It seems making more wealth is of greater importance to little red butt, that was his nickname when I was a very young boy, in that he was always in trouble with his dad.  I use that only as an example of where we have gone in the USA.  Is our Father in Heaven's name well known in the USA, His name is often used as a cuss word, much of the time by those who would claim to be Christian.  Does the word Christian, say you are a follower of Christ and look to Him and obey His written word?  If not, what does it mean?

A large group of unlearned people who have no understanding of history have been led to believe in government, and not in seeking God and His righteousness, reading His written word, and asking Him to open your eyes to the truth, without truth one will always make wrong choices.

Make your vows to the Lord your God and perform them; let all around him bring gifts to him who is to be feared, who cuts off the spirit of princes, who is to be feared by the kings of the earth.

Will you who have no knowledge of the Scripture, you never read the Bible, or if you did it was read like a book, will you just read the gospel of John, and ask God the Father to open your eyes to what His Son has done for you?
