O Lord, Do Not Delay

                                                                           Psalm 70:1-7

July 7-2022

O Lord, Do Not Delay

Make haste, O God, to deliver me!  O Lord, make haste to help me! Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life!  Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt!  Let them turn back because of their shame who say, “Aha, Aha!”

May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you!  May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!”

But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God!  You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay!

My wife is a prayer warrior, and she often prays Scripture back to the Lord, I usually have Scripture come to mind while I am praying, and will remind my heavenly Father of the verse or verses, not as if He needs reminding.  For God's Spirit lives in me and it is He that brings Scripture to my mind.

But this is a prayer for all who seek righteousness, and God who is Holy and pure desires us to be righteous.  My prayer is not so much about what men are doing to me, no it is about what they are doing against God and His Church.  Now that very much includes me, in that I am a part of God’s Church, for once again it is not a building or denomination but people who have entered into Christ by faith, not of works, are their goodness but by the grace of God.

I like you who or experiencing the evil of leadership all over the world, and such is true in the USA.  It is not a Democrat or Republican problem; it is a Spiritual problem.  Men and women, boys and girls with no fear of God, we are a pagan nation that worships self and puts self above all else.

So I’m praying Psalm 70 to my Father in heaven, but changing it from the time of David to my need as the Church of Christ who sits at the right hand of the Father.

Make haste, O God, to deliver me!  O Lord, make haste to help me! Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek to destroy your righteousness on earth.  Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in tearing down the foundation the USA was founded on, and the righteousness of your people.  Let them turn back because of their shame who say, “Aha, Aha!”  Lord, we have seen the hate displayed by the mayors, and governors in many states for your Church, and my prayer is that you will remove them from office and authority.  I also pray that the eyes of those leaders will be open to the love you have for them, even when they have done all they can to keep the Church from assembling.

May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you!  May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!”   Is this not Scripture we can pray back to our great, and mighty God, who is above all and is worthy of our praise.

But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God!  You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay!  In my extended stay with hospitals and doctors and nurses, I’ve cried out to the Lord, for I like David came to an understanding of how needy I was for God's healing hand, now I needed Him to act as my deliverer from the many things that were attacking my body.

For seventy-nine almost years, I live a life free from pain and sickness, but before the 79’s were over I was visited by death, and yet my God rescued me, I was not lucky, I had the right hand of my God guiding the affairs in my life, and yes I was blessed by the God who number my days before one of them had happened.  We use luck as if life is a crap game in Vegas, but life is not by chance, you have a designer, who saw you before you were and number your days correctly.  Yes and He has a desire to have a personal relationship with you, if you want to know your Creator, tell Him you are tired of acting as if you were god and want Him to forgive you and open your eyes to what Jesus His Son has done for you.  Jesus is the only way to the Father. You will find that in John’s gospel 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
