Will the Church Turn to God?

Psalm 60:1-12

June 19, 2022

O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.  You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open; repair its breaches, for it totters.  You have made your people see hard things; you have given us wine to drink that made us stagger.  You have set up a banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it from the bow. Selah

That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer us!   God has spoken in his holiness: With exultation, I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth.  Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;  Ephraim is my helmet; Judah is my scepter.   Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom, I cast my shoe, over Philistia, I shout in triumph.” Who will bring me to the fortified city?  Who will lead me to Edom?  Have you not rejected us, O God?  You do not go forth, O God, with our armies.  Oh, grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man! Will With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes.

When a nation rejects over and over the commandments of God, and passes laws that or not in keeping with its founders' plans will God not reject them?  The USA is such a nation and we are being awoken to what happens to a nation whose leaders take bribes and sell out their country; we have such a leader.  A nation that is blessed with more oil and gas than any other country buys it from its enemies, who desire to bring us down to a third-rate nation.  Our stores are running out of food, we are killing the trucking industry with fuel prices and now we are seeing the result of a nation that is in a downward spiral because whoever is the President behind the curtain in the White House may be the leader of a nation that wants to destroy the greatest and most blessed nation on earth.

One must ask this question, (If you were God, would you put up with a nation that has no desire to seek you, it is some of the most ungrateful people in the world, and never realized how blessed or the poorest of us.  The Church is still strong, but it is very small, not the commercial group that shows up on Sundays.  They have no desire to seek the face of God, they want His blessing but will not compile and obey His written word.  They have made the word Christian a word of disdain, they have no understanding of grace, and the Love God has for them, in that they are blind to the truth.  Jesus is Truth!

Will the Church humble itself and seek the face of God, will God turn from His wrath and restore our nation, maybe, but why?  At best we are a mess.
