My Soul Waits for God Alone

                                                                          Psalm 62:1-12

6:23, 2022

My Soul Waits for God Alone

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.  He alone is my rock and my salvationmy fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.   How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?  They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood.  They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.  He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.  On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.  Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

Those of low estate are but a breath;  those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.   Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.   Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.  For you will render to a man according to his work.

As you read that first paragraph what comes into your thinker (mind)?  I wish that was true in my experiences.  I’m referring to this verse; ( For God alone my soul waits in silence;) I am doing better but there are two items that interfere and I bet you have the same issues, busyness, and noise.  Now if you are in Christ the second part of the sentence is on the spot; from him comes my salvation.  My prayer is that you have the discernment to not be taken in by those who bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse.  If you have people in your circle of aquacise that say nice things to a person's face, but when they leave, have only bad to say about them, remove them from your circle, they do the same thing with you.

If the second paragraph is that truth in all areas of your life, is Jesus your strong tower, your Rock, and refuge, your salvation and fortress?  If it is lived out at home, and work, people and your family will see that the Lord is your rock and that you are not shaken by the culture or the lies and deception of our so-called leadership.

And the third paragraph gives us a better understanding of heaven's view of mankind's view of self, and the reality of those who believe they are high estate are a delusion, they are but a breath. What are our main roles with God, to love Him and obey His Word?
