Send Out Your Light and Your Truth

Psalm 43

Send Out Your Light and Your Truth

Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!  For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me?  Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?  Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!  Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.  Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?  Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation, and my God.

David understood that he needed God, and he understood his problem, it was that his soul, that is his mind will and emotions, are dwelling on the ungodly people and the deceitful and unjust.  He also understood that he could not make laws or rules that would change the hearts of people, only God can do that.

It is my belief that many, in the Church have this same problem, and do not understand that they are looking to sources that will not change the hearts of anyone.  The reason I have this belief is I also was taken captive by believing people just did not understand that our world was going to hell, and if we just informed those folks they would change.

The first verse of Psalm 43, give us our marching orders, look to God alone, ask and you will receive if you are asking for the will of God.  But Church, you must wait on God’s timing, not yours.  We as His kids do not like to wait, we have been trained like bird dogs to get what we want now.  Shall we look once more at that verse; Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!   That needs to be the cry of our hearts.  I am not implying one should not speak out against evil, but do so in love.

I ran across this paper from a pastor.

Important Principle —  To be really submitted, we must believe what has been accomplished in the Finished Work, and what Jesus spoke to us;

I have come that you might have abundant Life ….John 10:10-I have come to set the captives free ….Luke 4:18-The Truth will set you free, Who the Son sets free, is free indeed ….John 8:32-36 -I have Overcome the world, in me you will also.. John 16:33 -You have been delivered out of the kingdom of darkness, finished work…Col 1:13
We all want God to take these problems away, to come and do it for us.
Faith demands and our Father wants us to use what we have been given.

Through the victory of the finished work of Jesus, and for us to Overcome through what has already been done, and not ask heaven for things that have been done through the finished work.

I now know that you have defeated the enemy for me and that you have set me free from these things that have kept me captive, you have set me free !!!!!

This is a major mindset change, that lines us up to the scriptures, it is the beginning of our first steps into freedom from these oppressions…..

Now we can go on to the bible remedy, James 4:7  Submit to God, Resist the Devil, and they will flee.

Can we be Submitted to God… if we do not believe and trust in the finished work on the cross

He has delivered us out of the kingdom of darkness….

Now we must change our prayer from asking/begging to thanking Him for what has been done through the finished work

The second verse of this Psalm,  For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me?  Could it be we are the ones that have done the rejecting of the finished work of Christ?
