God is all you need

Psalm 46:1-11

To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A Song.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

Fear is a tool of the devil, it is often used to manipulate, to control and our society is under its control.  I found Isaiah 41:10, very helpful in the months in the hospital.  “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  If you battle with fear let me encourage you to put to memory these verses.

“…For he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So, we can confidently say, ’The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’” Hebrews 13:5b-6

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God the holy habitation of the Most High.  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.  The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

In the book of Acts 17:27-28, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for “'In him we live and move and have our being'; as even some of your own poets have said, “'For we are indeed his offspring.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth.  He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!”  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

In Re/engage we learned that a cord of three is not easily broken.  And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”  When we learn to put our mate first in our thoughts and prayers, we find that cord of three, so learn to be still and wait on God.
