“Who can discern his errors?

Psalm 19:12-14

“Who can discern his errors?  Declare me innocent from hidden faults.   Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me!  Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
I would never presume I knew what another person was thinking so once more I must be a little more transparent than my flesh desires.  It so easy for me to see your faults and errors, but not my own, is that also true with you?  Its those hidden areas of life, those cute little statements that come into our minds but we would never share with anyone but maybe a very close friend, and I wonder if that what David is asking the Lord to declare him innocent of?
The word “presumptuous” defined in this way; failing to observe the limits of what is permitted or appropriate.  I wanted to see what synonyms for the word presumptuous and there are many, words like arrogant, presuming, disrespectful, inconsiderate, improper, and conceited.  David is not saying these are not areas he never has to worry about, no they are often active, and he is asking God not to allow then having dominion over him.  Like David, those synonyms keep showing up in my mind and heart.  I pray as did David that the Lord gives me power over them.

Early in the morning as I write this paper, I’m reminded that I’m a mess, my wants and even my desire or center around what I desire and may not be the best for me or even the one I want to help.  So like David I asking you dear Father,  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.”
