When God get hold of men's hearts

2 Chronicles 29:12-19

Then the Levites arose, Mahath the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah; and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri, and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah, and Mattaniah; and of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.  They gathered their brothers and consecrated themselves and went in as the king had commanded, by the words of the Lord, to cleanse the house of the Lord.  The priests went into the inner part of the house of the Lord to cleanse it, and they brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the Lord into the court of the house of the Lord. And the Levites took it and carried it out to the brook Kidron.  They began to consecrate on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month, they came to the vestibule of the Lord. Then for eight days, they consecrated the house of the Lord, and on the sixteenth day of the first month, they finished.  Then they went into Hezekiah the king and said, “We have cleansed all the house of the Lord, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the table for the showbread and all its utensils.  All the utensils that King Ahaz discarded in his reign when he was faithless, we have made ready and consecrated, and behold, they are before the altar of the Lord.”

As I read these verses, I first complained to the Lord, that so many names I could not pronounce, and then I once again stopped skipping over them and tried to sound them out.  The thing that I could not get around was that a leader makes a difference.  The Levites were ready to do the job, the priest also but it took a leader who was willing to honor God and do God’s will.

They went from a faithless king to a king who wanted to please the Lord and look what happened to them.  It is my understanding from the Scripture that no king or President gets into office by luck but is chosen by God to bless or to bring about judgment.  In the last two elections that truth has been very clear, President Trump was a bully, he was arrogant and not very presidential at times, but he was used by God to do many great things for our nation and the world.  He was a leader and a great President.  Then God gave the people what they wanted an evil man, who has not led, may not know who he is most of the time, has sold the country out for money and many are saying, he is a traitor.

That is just the fact, that it is not a Republican nor a Democrat point of view, it is just truth, but what if we as a Church put our allegiance not to a political party but to our God and Lord, and ask Him to place a man who has the desire to please Him.

The real Church is only a small part of what shows up on Sundays, but very strong and powerful.
