Edom revolted

2 Chronicles 21:8-15

July 28, 2023

“In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah and set up a king of their own.  Then Jehoram passed over with his commanders and all his chariots, and he rose by night and struck the Edomites who had surrounded him and his chariot commanders.  So, Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. At that time Libnah also revolted from his rule, because he had forsaken the Lord, the God of his fathers.

Moreover, he made high places in the hill country of Judah and led the inhabitants of Jerusalem into whoredom, and made Judah go astray.  And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father, ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah, but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel and have enticed Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem into whoredom, as the house of Ahab led Israel into whoredom, and also you have killed your brothers, of your father's house, who were better than you,  behold, the Lord will bring a great plague on your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions, and you yourself will have a severe sickness with a disease of your bowels until your bowels come out because of the disease, day by day.’”

When God is not, pleased with a nation, history tells us that He brings judgment and it comes in many ways and forms.  Often, we see God's judgment in the form of weather, storms, or drought.  In loss of wealth, the economy going south, loss of income and jobs.  It also comes in battle defeat, and even being taken over by more evil nations.

Judah went from being a people of God to the worship of evil like their brothers Israel.  Let me ask you to give thought to this fact, the United States of America has allowed a very small minority to set the standard that is being taught to our Children, which is anti-God, and what the rules He has set for us to live by.  Have you noticed the signs of judgment, if so, have you read that the fool says in his heart there is no God?  Do you read the Proverbs, it tells us often that “The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.  2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  That Scripture as well as John 3:16, “For God so love the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  They are often quoted, but reading something and believing it to the point you would die for this truth are two very different things.

I am not a prophet or a son of a prophet, but I have seen this nation go the way of evil against the teaching of Scriptures, and I have noticed the lack of truth, and I notice the lack of the fear of the LORD.  It is later than you think, the storm cloud has risen.
