Why were they put There?
This cannot be true! If it is, we are through, finished as a nation of people who go to work each day in order to improve the life of their family. This morning I was reading Psalm 11 the third verse states; "if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Check it out; the answer is in that chapter. After getting the note from my friend Jay, my mind went to something I had read by G.K. Chesterton, the famous theologian, philosopher, and journalist. He once offered this advice: "Whenever you remove any fence, always pause long enough to ask yourself the question, 'Why was it put there in the first place?" Let me close with a quote from another famous theologian and writer, Ravi Zacharias. Ravi states in a book called "A Life of Integrity" the following: "You and I are living in the closing moments of the twentieth century when fences are removed all around us. America is playing a dangerous game with her destiny, removing fences that were put there for a reason. Fences that were put in place for our own spiritual protection. Fences for our national character. Fences for our families. Fences for the Church of Jesus Christ. Fences that were built on the nature and character of God. And we are now trying to remove them.
If what was sent and credited to Nancy Pelosi is true, it sounds more like Communism than the American spirit; to be all that you can be by the grace that has been bestowed on each of us. I am in the market, it has made money for me and it has also taken money out of my pocket. I’ve never had anyone from the government want to return what I lost in the market. From the age of 10 years, I have worked, my first real job was H.E.B. at the young age of 12, and from that time on I’ve worked and paid taxes. That was a fence in my life, a fence built on what my Mother and Dad taught me.
As I get older my heart and mind seem to be pointing me to God, to the finish line. For some time now I have wanted to know God and I’ve wanted His approval. What does He require of me? In Micah chapter 6 verse 8 it is stated; “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
"Whenever you remove any fence, always pause long enough to ask yourself the question, 'Why was it put there in the first place?" Each time a fence falls we should ask that question, and it should make each of us do what we can, to keep the fences that are left, to protect our children and their children.
As of 2023, we have seen many fences taken down, and it sure looks as if it has had a disastrous effect on our Nation.
