Psalm 100

8-17-2022

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!   Serve the Lord with gladness!    Come into his presence with singing!   Know that the Lord, he is God!   It is he who made us, and we are his;  we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.   Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!  Give thanks to him; bless his name!  For the Lord is good;  his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

I read Psalm 100 to my bride of 57 years and we both said, we had that Psalm to memory, but, it was very familiar but neither of us could quote it correctly.    Make a joyful noise to the Lord, not just us but all the earth.  Do you recall Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and the people, saying; "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"  That was Luke 19:38, and in verse 40 we have Jesus reply to the Pharisees; “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”  God is worthy of all praise, and Jesus was stating the truth, if they had been silent the rock would have praised Him.

When one is looking to an event, will they not tell others about what they are going to experience, or where they are going?  I have a trip planned that is out of this world.  Can I tell you about it?  Jesus is coming in the clouds to call His saints, (that all that by faith have confessed their sins, and also confess Jesus as Lord.  He tells us we will be changed at that moment and will no longer be earth people but His bride,  We will be changed and have a new body.  The dead in Christ will be called up before us and those who are alive. Now it is time to be transparent, have you who are in Christ shared this truth, are you living with expectation about the Lord coming, have you told your neighbors, the people at work, Why not, could it be you are like the Pharisees, you not really expecting to see Jesus?

When the Psalmist tells, the following;  It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.  In John 10:28-29, we are told this by Jesus; I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.   My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.  That includes you!  The apostle Paul comes along to make sure we understand the relationship we have with Christ.  In Romans 8:38-39, For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,  nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Now if a little voice sounds like you said, now, I can do as I desire, it is time to run to God’s Word, to do a quick study of 2 Corinthian 13:5, Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith.  Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!”
