Psalm 104:1-5
8-25-2022
Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
As one reads that first sentence has more to say about God, do you view and give praise to our Lord and Father in that way? What is the soul, “the soul is the essence of humanity’s being; it is who we are.” That being true, the Psalmist tells us the real him is praising the Lord. It requires a person having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ to give praise in this way, both in public and in their quiet time.
It takes a rebirth, and you are not the first to ask the question of the Lord, how can that be, do I get back in Mom? In the book of John 3:1-8, we see Jesus teaching one of the teachers of the Jewish people. “ Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” Now Nick was not getting the message, so let's move down to verses 16-20, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.”
If you have not entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you according to Scripture have a dead spirit, and in that God is Spirit, you must first agree with God you have sinned and need His forgiveness. We are told in Romans 10:9-10, the following; “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved.”
