Psalm 145:17-21
“The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.”
It is almost one in the morning and I awoke early this morning at 5:30 and this evening got all involved in a National title for who would win the college football game. My team did not do very well, and I got way to emotional over something that has no eternal importance. I got out of bed and came into our living area to be still and hear from my Father who I had already ask to forgive my foolish actions. My prayer is that you are willing to ponder on the verses above when you get this.
Think about the word righteous; He is blameless, good, just in all His works. Now give thought to our LORD being near to all who call on Him, but do not miss that they call on Him in truth. Tonight, when I went to bed, I called on the LORD and once again I ask Him to forgive my foolishness over getting upset over a football game. I allowed a game to rob me of my joy and peace. Now I know He has heard my cry for mercy, and I know that I am deeply loved by Him, and that I am forgiven.
I’m going back to bed, not upset over my actions but as a very thankful man who is a mess, but as Brennan Manning states so well; “All is Grace.”
