Proverbs 19:28
“A
worthless witness mocks at justice, and
the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.”
How often does
one observe a worthless witness mocking justice in 2018, have you watched the
actions of the men and women of the Democratic side of the aisle, and now they
have acted at the hearing to elect a judge for the Supreme Court. I expect the
people who are being paid in the gallery to do as they are paid to do.
But a person of the U. S. Senate, one should expect more than what we have
seen, and they are a worthless witness who mocks at justice.
So what counsel
does King Solomon give us about this kind of person? They are a worthless witness, shall we examine
Proverbs 6:12-15. “A worthless person, a wicked
man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his
eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted
heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore
calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be
broken beyond healing.” People who act in this manner
are one of two things, ignorant of the ways of God, having no fear of
Him.
Maybe it would be
of worth to look at how the word “worthless” is defined; a troublemaker who
rebels against all right and godly authority. Many places in the
Scriptures it’s translated as a perverted person such as in Judges 19:22 and
wicked in many places as shown in 1 Samuel 2:12.
If you are a
follower of Christ, it is going to make you angry when you see such things as
we have witnessed in those hearings. That is not a sin, but it is a
choice as what you choose to do, for in the Scriptures you are told it is
alright to be angry, it goes on but does not sin. You will find that in
Ephesians 4:26, but keep reading for you also will find the way not to sin if
you obey these words in Ephesians 4:29-32. “Let
no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for
building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And
do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of
redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor
and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be
kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ
forgave you.”
I often joke when
asked about my age, and for many years I’ve lived in denial, in that I'm
blessed with good health and a healthy body. But age and gravity also
catch up, and I’m beginning to come to that reality. But I have a much more
significant problem with denial than with my age, for I often get angry and
sin, and in doing so, I grieve the Holy Spirit of God. I forget how much
God has forgiven me and I become the judge of those who acted as many on the
Democrat side of the aisle have done in the hearing on our next Supreme Court
Judge. Judge not, lest you be judged in the same manner. Let all
bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you,
along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Porch,
