Proverbs 3:19-24
“The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding, he established the heavens; by his knowledge, the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, do not lose sight of these – keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul, and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”
I’ve wondered often about wisdom, how did it come about, and the answer is found in Proverbs 8:22-31. “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of the work, the first of his acts of old. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths, I was brought forth when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth, before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside him, like a master workman, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his Inhabited world and delighting in the children of man.”
Now another question that must be answered is who was the he that wisdom keeps referring to? Shall we look to the apostle John and the insights the Holy Spirit gave him on this subject? John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Jesus has many titles, Messiah, the Christ, the Word, Truth, King of Kings and Lord of lords, mighty God. The desire of God’s heart is that all men will bow down now in this world to His Son the Creator of all that has ever been. This I do know for it is written a time will come at judgment day when all men will bow down before Jesus and proclaim Him as holy God.
