This Life = a Choice

Psalm 119:169-176

“Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word!
Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word.  My lips will pour forth praise, for you teach me your statutes.  My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right.  Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.  I long for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my delight.  Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me.  I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.”

Life has so many opportunities to mess up or to choose to follow the statues and precepts God has laid out for us.  One road lead to contentment and the others leads to sorrow.  To whom are you crying out to, is it God who loves you and desires to enter into a relationship and fellowship with you; I pray it is?

I’m not the best example of one who lives the Christian life, but I do seek to be a follower of Christ, for He is the only one who has ever lived that life, and He wants to live it in and through you.

As I write this paper, I just heard from my daughter that both boys are home safe and now she and I can go to sleep and I will in a little while.  My friend John Davis was on spot when he said nothing good happens after midnight.  My prayers once more were answered, and I’m so glad I have a Father who I can cry out to, one that hears my prayers.

Jesus Christ has placed a song in my heart of praise I long to learn His precepts, to understand His gift of life in the full now and the promise of eternity with Him.  I still at times lean to my own understanding and need the fellowship and example I see in my brothers and sisters in Christ.

We live in a time of rebellion and fear, and it seems that is not a new thing, it has been happening since mankind broke fellowship with the Father and chose a lie of the evil one.  We each have an understanding of verse 176, “I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.”  Once you understand, you can’t, and God never said you could, He can and He promised He would live the Christ life in and through you, then you also will cry out to Him.
