Malachi 3:1-4
“Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the Lord. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old and as in former years.”
Often at church, we sing a song titled “Our God is an awesome God,” and He is! If we who claim to be followers of Christ would only read His word, it would be clear that God always gives us a warning about the big picture. Was any happening in history more significant than God sending His Son, His only Son to the earth to redeem humanity? To buy us out of sin to take our sin and cover us with the blood of His Son, that coming was foretold on many pages in the Scripture, and Malachi 3:1-4.
If you are not sure I have given you the correct information check it out in the four Gospels, but a good place to start is the gospel of Luke. What a wonderful God who loves you and me so much that knowing us He still asked His Son to pay a price of death on a Roman cross to make us in right standing with Him. That is the report of Jesus coming as a baby, but Jesus the King of all kings is coming back, and we find the account in Zechariah 14.
The New Testimony also gives insight to what will take place in Acts 1:10-11, “And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” Have you visited Revelation 1:7-8, “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so, Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
