Opinions not based on the Bible

Isaiah 6:8-10

It is early in the morning, my eyes came open about 2:30 and after two hours of prayer and self-examination I’m asking the Helper to open my eyes and yours to what we need from Isaiah’s encounter with the Father.  We know that in a vision Isaiah has seen God, and this was his reaction; “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!” (Isaiah 6:5, ESV)  We also know that one of the seraphim flew to Isaiah with a burning coal from the altar and touched the mouth of Isaiah and said: “Behold this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”  Is that not redemption, it is what all mankind is seeking to have our sin atoned for?

You might say that Isaiah is included in a conference call between God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, yet the question asked was not directed to Isaiah, but to the Triune, the three in one.  This was the question: And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” And he said, “Go, and say to this people: “ ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” (Isaiah 6:8-10, ESV)  Now do not be foolish in your thinking, it was God who allowed Isaiah to be on the conference call, and it was God who commissioned Isaiah to be His spokes person to Judea and to us.

When it comes to the ways of God, I have strong opinions about many things that I do not understand, but this I know, for the Bible tells me so: God’s word is living, and active, and in it one finds enough understanding to place their hope in Christ alone.  I’ve met many a person who have strong opinions on many things, even about God, but they are not based on the Bible, but on their opinion of what others, mere men, have said about the Bible.  And what I find most shocking is they have not been honest with themselves, and searched the Scriptures, and listened for the voice of God to speak into their hearts and be healed.

If you are a seeker of truth, may I suggest you begin in the gospel of John, in the New King James version, the New American Standard version, or the English Standard version.  Always asking the Father to open your eyes, ears, and your heart to see and hear truth, and I know you will find the truth.  A seeker of truth, will want to pray and ask the Lord to send them someone who can guide them, but remember Jesus is the one you are following, not a man, or a denomination.
