A New Heart

Jesus tells us in Marks gospel that it is not what comes into a person that defiles them, but it is what comes from his heart.  Mark 7:20-23, And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him.  For from within, out of the heart of man come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.  All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”   Do you want to live with that kind of heart?  I am betting the farm that you desire a heart of flesh and not stone, Ezekiel 11:19-20, “And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them.  I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them.  And they shall be my people, and I will be their God.”  God desires to have a relationship with us, to change our heart of stone to give us a new spirit, and Psalm 41:4, gives us clear understanding on what we must do.  “I said, O Lord, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.”  Confession is just agreeing with God that He is God and you are not, and that you want to accept His free gift of redemption.
