Prophecy Against Sidon

The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against her and say, Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, and I will manifest my glory in your midst.  And they shall know that I am the Lord when I execute judgments in her and manifest my holiness in her; for I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the slain shall fall in her midst, by the sword that is against her on every side.  Then they will know that I am the Lord.  “And for the house of Israel, there shall be no more a brier to prick or a thorn to hurt them among all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.

 

The theme of God's message to Ezekiel has not changed for us, yes, we are under grace, but God’s message has not changed, His desire is for us to know, that He is the Lord.  How long will God put up with any people who live as if they are gods, and have no fear of the living God?  Have no understanding of His love for them, or the great gift He gave in giving His only Son to buy them out of sin.

 

In the book of John, we are told this; “He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.  But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,  who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”  (John 1:11-13)

 

Everything rests on what you have done with Jesus.  Only you and God know the answer to that question.
