Isaiah Reassures Hezekiah

As soon as King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord   And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.   They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, This day is a day of distress, of rebuke, and of disgrace; children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth.   It may be that the Lord your God heard all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore, lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.”   When the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah,  Isaiah said to them, “Say to your master, ‘Thus says the Lord: Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled me.   Behold, I will put a spirit in him so that he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land, and I will make him fall by the sword in his own land.’”

It is 2021 and the leaders of the Church of the living God must awaken to the message King Hezekiah sent to Isaiah.  For it is a day of distress of rebuke, and of disgrace, for this evil generation mocks the living God.  This thought came into my mind, to whom would we go John 6:65, enter my thoughts, Jesus had this to say, And he said, This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.”  It is always good to understand the reason Jesus was telling them this in John 6:50-51 “This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.  I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.  So, Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?”  Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,  and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

In Simon Peter's confession, Jesus built His Church, not a building, not a denomination but a personal relationship with all who put their trust in Christ alone.  So, to whom will you go, for someone great than Isaiah is among us.  Christ in you, yes Jesus has come to live in you and me, on that confession, and Jesus has sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us.  He is our guide in allowing Jesus' power to be manifested in us,  He will guide us into truth, so He is our helper.  He is also our Intercessor, often we do not know how to pray, but He will show us how to look to the Father.  The Holy Spirit gives us the gifts we need to be Christ's ambassadors in this evil world.

The answer to who will we go to Church is the one that sent the Holy Spirit to live in us,  But many of us have quants the Spirit and need to ask for forgiveness before we run to Jesus for help.
