Micaiah Prophesies Against Ahab
For three years there was no war between Aram and Israel. But in the third year, Jehoshaphat king of Judah went down to see the king of Israel. The king of Israel had said to his officials, “Don’t you know that Ramoth Gilead belongs to us and yet we are doing nothing to retake it from the king of Aram?” So he asked Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.” But Jehoshaphat also said to the king of Israel, “First seek the counsel of the Lord.” So the king of Israel brought together the prophets—about four hundred men—and asked them, “Shall I go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?” "Go,” they answered, “for the Lord will give it into the king’s hand.”
But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?” The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”
“The king should not say such a thing,” Jehoshaphat replied. So, the king of Israel called one of his officials and said, “Bring Micaiah son of Imlah at once.”
Two men, from their Father Abraham, both Kings, one of ten tribes called the North Kingdom and one from the tribe of Judah referred to as the Southern Kingdom. That is where the similarity ends, for Ahab the king of Israel is a double-minded man who has little fear of the Lord, were as Jehoshaphat is the king of Judah and still has some aspect of fear of God. Jehoshaphat at this point wants to keep the peace with Israel and in doing so does not seek the Lord’s counsel before entering into this partnership. One might say they were unequally yoked. One put his trust in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Ahab the king of Israel put his trust in the cultural gods and their prophets.
It reminds me of those listening to the gods of science and their godless prophets, not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For me and my house, we will put our trust in God. Those gods of science are telling you to get your children stuck with the shot to save the planet, yet I just read a study that of 48 thousand children that got the virus, 0 died.
Today I read this from The Heritage Foundation
“For example, most children who are known to have been infected are either asymptomatic or, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), experience “mild” symptoms. About 1.3 percent of children diagnosed with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, and 0.01 percent have died.”
It is time for the Church to choose which God you will serve, the god of science or the God who loves you, the God of Promise, or the gods of this world.
For me and my house, we have made God our refuge and dwelling place, and by faith, He has given us, we have put faith in His promises. Psalm 91:9-11, “Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—the Most High, who is my refuge—no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
