What kind of god do you bow down to?

Joshua 21: 43-45

What kind of god do you bow down to? You think that a foolish question, it is not, many of you have devised a god just like you, he overlooks your pet sins, but finds no love for a God who would confront you about those sins.

Many of you go by the title of Christian but have long ago quit reading a Bible that just did not make sense to you.  Sure, you still go to a building that is referred to as the Church, but it has no impact on how you treat your neighbor, how you conduct your business, and yes, you in your eyes are better than many others.

But let me tell you about the God that you have rejected, He is not an Old Testament or New Testament God, for He has never changed, He is the same today as yesterday.  Let me tell you about God, He is a Promise Keeper.  You will find this throughout the Scriptures, but shall we look at Joshua 21:43-45, “Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that He swore to their fathers.  And they took possession of it, and they settled there.

And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as had sworn to their fathers.  Not one of all their enemies had withstood them,  for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands.  Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD  had made to the house of Israel had failed, all came to pass.”

How does the god you are serving stack up to God who always keeps his promises?  He has promised that we will reap what we sow, righteousness is found only in a relationship with Jesus Christ, His one and only Son.  Or with your version of righteousness found in the religion of a god who approves of your sinfulness.  One reaps joy, peace, and service to others, the other, pride, anger, and fear of the unknown.
