Why?

 Why?

Yes, why did the Church not look to the promises of their God?  Has He not promised has He not Commanded us to do so?  Why did they look to the Government, why did they believe in science, and doctors, governors, mayors, and not the Promises of its God?  What happened to the leadership of the Church?

My dad always taught us that actions spoke louder than our words, never has that been truer, than what we saw from the pews.  So let me share what was not preached in most of our Church buildings but should have been.

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge—no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.  For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.  Psalm 91:9-11

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”   Hebrews 4:15-16

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.   And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

And so many more but it was Isaiah 41:10, that gave Jan and I peace during the pandemic of fear; “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My pastor is a man of God, he walks the walk, and he is a great leader, as I hope yours also is.  He also reminds us often that we are all messes, and we all make mistakes.  The question "why" is not to attack leadership but is more a hope that the pandemic was used by God to bring to light the reason His Church has little power in the USA.  My hope is it is a wake-up call, as were the parents of students who saw what their children were being taught and are now saying no more will I allow this garbage to be taught to my child.

It is always a good time to examine oneself, 2 Corinthians 13:5, Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”

Church, why did you turn to the voice of the world, and not to the promises of God?  Has he not told you that He numbered your days before one happened, and has He not said you cannot add or take away one day from the time of your death, so is not the message “Fear Not?  Why do you not believe in God’s Promises?  Why do you put trust in a man, like Dr. Fauci and ignore the PROMISE OF GOD?

From the Back Porch,
