The Propaganda Minister

Matthew 28:11-15

If a lie is told often enough soon many will believe it, or maybe we should look back in history to a man who brought on World War II, his name is Adolf Hitler, and these are his words; “If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”  But we can go back to the beginning, and find that old serpent, the devil himself telling a big one to Eve in the Garden, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”  Yes, lying has been around from the beginning, but I am glad to report we have dropped such a harsh term from our vocabulary.  Thanks to another famous person, who was a President of the United States, for changing such a harsh term as lying to the word “Spin” and the media show their approval, by proclaiming Bill Clinton the king of spin.  So what is “spin”?  It implies disingenuous, deceptive, and highly manipulative tactics, or in plain English, a liar.

Joseph Goebbels was Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister and these quotes, this writer believes, have become the game plan of our present administration.

“What does Christianity mean today? National Socialism is a religion. All we lack is a religious genius capable of uprooting outmoded religious practices and putting new ones in their place. We lack traditions and ritual. One day soon National Socialism will be the religion of all Germans. My Party is my church, and I believe I serve the Lord best if I do his will, and liberate my oppressed people from the fetters of slavery. That is my gospel.  (Diary entry for October 16, 1928)  I find no pleasure in saying that many who attend church today, have placed their political party as their religion, and I mean both Democrats and Republicans.

Now back to Matthew 28:11-15, does it surprise you that the religious leaders of the Jewish people would direct the guards to tell a lie?  It helps to give the one who you are counting on to lie for you, a good reason and so they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers.  And what did they get paid to say, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’  Now it must have been a lot of money, because to sleep on guard duty was a death sentence, but the leaders assured them if the governor hears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.  “So they took the money and did as they were directed.  And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.”
