Job 4:12-21

“Now a word was brought to me stealthily; my ear received the whisper of it. Amid thoughts from visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, dread came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake. A spirit glided past my face; the hair of my flesh stood up. It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes; there was silence, then I heard a voice: ‘Can mortal man be in the right before God? Can a man be pure before his Maker? Even in his servants, he puts no trust and his angels he charges with error; how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed like the moth. Between morning and evening, they are beaten to pieces; they perish forever without anyone regarding it. Is not their tent cord plucked up within them, do they not die, and that without wisdom?’
In the time of Job, often they put a lot of trust in dreams and visions, and I am not implying Eliphaz did not have this dream or that the message was not in keeping with God’s character or an angelic visitation. It seems that he assumed his experience had provided him with great insight into one of life’s mysteries. But a wise person will examine the Scriptures to see if God had said such things. Eliphaz may not have access to the Scriptures but you and I do, and are without excuse. It is this writer's opinion that a demon spoke to Eliphaz and without knowledge he became a tool of the evil one.
Let us deal with whether a man can be in the right standing with God, I believe the Scriptures are clear, that he can. And this spirit implied that God did not care about man. But our God and Father, paid a great price to buy us out of the control of Satan, by sending His only Son to be our blood sacrificed, and redeem us, and bring us into the family of God. John 3:16-18, “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
Not only has Jesus redeemed us, we are now enveloped in Christ and the Father. John 14:20, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
Only Godly wisdom will give a person the correct understanding of how to live properly before God. We should be very careful about dreams, and the teaching of man, and if what anyone says does not agree with the written Word of God, it is a false teaching.
